Vongsay has been making her way up and down Payne Avenue since the beginning of July. As she sets up shop at businesses and community gathering spaces as the Payne Avenue Poet, she has been writing poetry with and inspired by the people and places along the avenue. This event will conclude with a large exhibit and poetry party at the East Side Arts Council’s gallery space at 977 Payne Ave on Sept. 15.
