LETTER: Lewis will continue to fight for us

To the Editor:

The last two years we have seen the U.S. economy get back on track and thousands of jobs are being created right here in the Second District and all over Minnesota. Two of the largest trade unions in Minnesota, The Carpenters’ Union and International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49, have endorsed Congressman Jason Lewis.

Both unions praised Rep. Lewis for focusing on local issues and fighting in Washington to defend good-paying union jobs. He has been working hard to support the trades and bring vocational and career and technical education back to our schools. More students need to be exposed to this training, as these jobs don’t require the debt of higher education and put them on a fast track for a successful career.

Moreover, Rep. Lewis protects jobs in Minnesota and is not beholden to special interests from environmental extremists in California or New York. He has been a strong advocate for the Enbridge Pipeline, which will bring thousands of new jobs and millions in investments to Minnesota. He has been clear where he stands from the beginning, he strongly supports Enbridge and will always put our economic wellbeing first.

Rep. Lewis fights for us, and he has earned my support so he can continue fighting for us in Congress.
