Benedictine Center events

Taize Prayer will be held Friday, Dec. 21 starting at 7 p.m. Taize prayer is a worldwide phenomenon consisting of simple chants based on the scriptures and periods of silence, and creating an environment that helps participants encounter the mystery of God. Refreshments will be served afterwards. 

On the Crest of a New Year will be held Monday, Dec. 31 starting at 1 p.m. A $50 ticket includes meals. A $80 ticket for an overnight stay - it costs $95 for a single room. This mini-retreat is for anyone who wants to celebrate New Years Eve in a new way.  Participants will get involved in creativity, contemplation and journaling as they seek to heal their past, ground themselves in the present and discern where the spirit is nudging them into the future.

“On the Crest of a New Year” retreat will be held Monday, Dec. 31 starting at 1 p.m. Celebrate New Year’s Eve in a new way. The Benedictine Center is offering a mini retreat that will help people celebrate New Year’s Eve in a place of silence and peace. The $50 cost includes meals.  It’s $80 for optional overnight lodging ($95 for a single room). Participants will reflect on Ecclesiastes 3 (“To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”). Through active creativity, quiet contemplation and journaling, they will seek to heal their past, ground themselves in the present and discern where the spirit is nudging them into the future.
