Arden Hills

Canine on canine

A caller told police the evening of Aug. 20 that a coyote had attacked their dog in the area of the Crepeau Nature Preserve in the 1000 block of Benton Way. The caller was concerned the coyote would attack others who approached it but the animal was gone by the time a deputy showed up.

 

Hit and run

A 19-year-old Lino Lakes woman told police the morning of Aug. 21 that someone hit her car and took off a mirror as it was parked in a lot in the 3900 block of Northwoods Drive.

 

Lock it or lose it

A 21-year-old woman told police Aug. 20 that somebody stole camping equipment overnight from her unlocked car as it was parked in a lot in the 1100 block of County Road E West.

 

Package theft

A 49-year-old woman told police the afternoon of Aug. 19 that someone stole a package from the mailbox at her home in the 3400 block of Lake Johanna Boulevard. The USPS app said the package had been delivered though nothing was in her mailbox.

 

 

Falcon Heights

Burglary

A 34-year-old man told police the afternoon of Aug. 19 that he’d accidently left the door open overnight to his detached garage in the 1300 block of Iowa Avenue West. Someone entered the garage and rummaged through his cars and stole two bicycles, a lawnmower battery and a circular saw.

 

 

Hit and run redux

A 30-year-old Woodbury man told police in the early morning hours of Aug. 24 that a red truck hit his car in the 1600 block of Snelling Avenue and then drove north on Snelling. Deputies couldn’t track down the driver of the truck.

 

Smoking weed

A deputy checked out a suspicious vehicle parked in the 2000 block of Roselawn Avenue in the early morning hours of Aug, 18. The driver and passengers, two 18-year-old men and a teenager, were cited for possession of small amounts of marijuana and released at the scene; the kid’s parent had to come and pick him up.

 

 

Lauderdale 

DWI

A 38-year-old Shoreview man was arrested Aug. 16 on Highway 280 at Broadway Street for fourth-degree DWI — he blew a .12 blood alcohol concentration. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail.

 

Warrant arrest

A 31-year-old man stopped Aug. 17 on Larpenteur Avenue at Eustis Street was arrested for an outstanding Anoka County theft warrant. He was also driving with a revoked license, had no proof of insurance and had run a red light. A passenger in the car and its owner, a 21-year-old woman, was arrested, cited and released for owner-allowed illegal operation of a vehicle, no proof of insurance and no insurance.

 

 

Little Canada

Bar happening

Deputies headed to one of the sports bars in the 2500 block of Rice Street 22 minutes after bar-close time Aug. 18 on a report of an unruly 25-year-old Little Canada woman. She’d been antagonizing a 30-year-old woman from St. Paul and eventually hit her a couple times and grabbed her hair. The younger woman was arrested for disorderly conduct.

 

Duplex burglary?

A 57-year-old man told police the morning of Aug. 20 that someone had broken a window and apparently entered the vacant side of a duplex in the 2400 block of McMenemy Street. Nothing appeared to be missing.

 

Goat!

A caller told police the evening of Aug. 20 that a goat had jumped the fence and was running free in Spooner Park near the 2700 block of Centerville Road. 

 

Sickly raccoon

A caller alerted law enforcement the afternoon of Aug. 20 to a small sick raccoon on the trail near the south entrance to Gervais Mill Park in the 2600 block of Noel Drive. Upon arrival of a deputy, to quote police, the “Little guy walked back into the woods.”

 

Trailer theft

An employee at a business in the 3100 block of Country Drive told police the morning of Aug. 20 that someone had stolen a heavy-duty industrial flatbed trailer from the business sometime overnight.

 

 

Police reports out of Mounds View and New Brighton were not available this week.

 

 

Shoreview

Attempted burglary

A 46-year-old woman told police Aug. 22 that someone had attempted to open a window into her home above her garage at around 2 a.m. that morning. Though she never saw the prowler, the person fled after being interrupted.

 

Mystery pooch

A dog no one recognized was reported as running through the area of Crystal Avenue and Gramsie Road the night of Aug. 22. Deputies were unable to track down its owner.

 

Spare key in the car

A 34-year-old Cannon Falls man who’d been visiting a friend who lives at Rice Street and Dennison Avenue told police the afternoon of Aug. 20 that his black 2003 Honda CRV had gone missing from the street. He said he kept a spare key to the SUV in the driver side door.

 

Stolen bikes

A 47-year-old woman who lives in the 200 block of Lion Lane told police Aug. 22 that someone had burglarized her garage overnight and stole two bikes.

 

Theft

A teenage girl is facing felony charges for shoplifting and fleeing police on foot after an Aug. 19 incident in which she shoplifted from the Target in the 3800 block of Lexington Avenue and then ran from deputies before being caught.

 

Unintended opener of package

A 57-year-old woman who lives in the 900 block of Dawn Avenue told police Aug. 23 that she arrived home and a package had been delivered there, but it had been torn open and its contents were missing.

 

 

St. Anthony

Gas and gone

Employees at the Holiday gas station in the 3800 block of Silver Lake Road told police Aug. 18 that someone pumped $50.09 worth of gas into a vehicle and then left without paying. Police tracked down the vehicle in question, but there was no registration information. Officers then located an apartment associated with the vehicle, but the people at the apartment refused to give information about the vehicle’s driver. The case is pending further investigation.

 

Grilled

A 23-year-old man reported Aug. 12 from the 3700 block of 33rd Avenue that someone had smashed a window on his car and placed a grill on top of it. It’s unclear how much it’ll cost to fix the damage.

 

Meat-lover

An employee at the Cub Foods in the 3900 block of Silver Lake Road told police Aug. 15 that a man hid $103.34 worth of meat on his person and exited the store without paying for it.

A 47-year-old woman who lives in the 2500 block of 27th Avenue told police Aug. 13 that someone entered her garage through an unlocked door and took a garage door opener.
