New outdoor pickleball courts grand opening

 Inver Grove Heights Parks & Recreation Department will be opening the City’s first outdoor Pickleball courts, located at North Valley Park, 2800 70th St. E. Residents and visitors are invited to attend the grand opening and bring their family and friends to officially open the new courts and learn and play this fast growing sport.

The opening will take place Sept. 17 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. A formal ribbon ceremony will begin at 5:45 p.m., with remarks from Mayor George Tourville and key groups involved in the development of these new outdoor pickleball courts.

The event will have several additional activities available for attendees, including: 

• Ribbon Cutting program at 5:45 p.m.

• Free pickles by Hometown Meats (while supplies last)

• Beverages and cookies will also be provided

• Newcomers can learn the game from local experts (equipment will be provided)

• Open play for players of all levels
