Visitation School speaker series: How to Succeed in College

Visitation School in Mendota Heights presents How to Succeed in College, its first installation of the 2019-20 Speaker Series on Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. at Visitation School in DeSales Auditorium, 2455 Visitation Drive, Mendota Heights. 
Hear practical advice about using the course syllabus, taking advantage of professors’ office hours, and performing well on assignments and exams, as well as the broader topics of the overall structure of the college academic world and how parents can best help their children successfully navigate their college career. Award winning speaker, college professor and author Dana Tregilgas Johnson will offer insightful and pertinent information about the tools and knowledge needed for students to be successful in college. She recently authored the book “Will This Be on the Test? What Your Professors Really Want You to Know about Succeeding in College.” It offers practical and specific advice on important topics helping students to prepare for and navigate college academics. During her career as a professor of mathematics and education at the College of William & Mary, Johnson was twice awarded the prestigious Simon Prize for Excellence for teaching in mathematics. Johnson’s presentation is open to all, including students, parents, grandparents and the greater community.
