Pitching depth a strength for Concordia nine

Most baseball teams’ successes start with its pitching staff, which appears to be the strength of this year’s Concordia Academy squad. The Beacons return their entire staff, including a pair of senior starters, from last year.
“Pitching will be our strength,” said Concordia head coach Eric Schutte.”We don’t have anyone who will overpower on the mound but all keep the ball down and hit their spots.”

Defending champion Mustangs have some holes to fill

It has been 16 years since a team won back-to-back state high school baseball championships in the biggest class in Minnesota. Roster turnover has a lot to do with that, and the defending Class AAA state champion Mounds View Mustangs face plenty of turnover from last year’s squad.

Huskies return seasoned roster

Despite the layer of snow that still covered Palm Field last week, there is plenty of optimism surrounding the St. Anthony Village High School baseball team this spring. The Huskies return a slew of talent from last year’s team that advanced to the section final.
