Ramsey County Commissioner candidates talk transit, juvenile corrections

Up for election for spots on the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners are two incumbents and two challengers in District 5. Jim McDonough is running unopposed in District 6. Candidates were asked questions about county priorities, transit projects including the Rush Line and Gateway Corridor, and about a proposed plan to combine juvenile detention services with Hennepin County. Ramsey County's District 5 includes a variety of St. Paul neighborhoods: Capitol Heights, Dayton's Bluff, Downtown, Highland, Macalester Groveland, Railroad Island, West Seventh, West Side.

Oakdale candidates talk issues with business community
Last week, the Oakdale Business and Professional Association hosted its annual Eggs 'n Issues breakfast at Oak Marsh Golf Course. The OBPA has hosted council and county board forums in the past, but this is the first year the OBPA has hosted a mayoral forum, moderator Marc Cove of Platinum Bank said.
