Ramsey County preparing for 2020 Census


courtesy City of St. Paul As a part of efforts to accurately count historically undercounted communities, the City of St. Paul and Ramsey County have created a Joint Complete Count Committee and are using data from the 2010 census to highlight areas that may need more attention during the 2020 census.

Next year, an essential democratic process will take place — the decennial national census.

Mendota Heights eyes improvements for Wentworth warming house


courtesy of City of Mendota Heights Possible improvements for Wentworth Park include a new warming house. The Mendota Heights City Council was presented exterior options for the building on Feb. 19. The work would be covered by a grant the council is applying for through the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

While no official action was taken, on Feb. 19 the Mendota Heights City Council had a chance to look at preliminary designs for an update to Wentworth Park in the form of an upgraded warming house.

4 East Side teachers among Teacher of the Year semifinalists

A panel of community leaders has narrowed 168 candidates down to 40 semifinalists for the Minnesota Teacher of the Year award. 

Among the semifinalists are four East Side teachers from Harding High School and Eastern Heights Elementary.
