Man shot by resident after fleeing police


courtesy of St. Paul Police Department After police tried to pull over this stolen vehicle April 16 it was involved in a crash. Its alleged driver fled the scene and was shot by a homeowner a few blocks west of Payne Avenue.

A man was shot and injured off Payne Avenue by a homeowner after fleeing police April 16. 

The homeowner was charged with second-degree assault.

Legislator looks to memorialize South St. Paul voting history

Rep. Anne Claflin is seeking funding for a monument to memorialize the historic vote, which took place in South St. Paul almost 100 years ago.

Almost 100 years after the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave women in the U.S. the right to vote, a state legislator is looking to memorialize the role women in South St. Paul played in voting rights history.
