On Aug. 11, folks headed to Fleming Field in South St. Paul for the annual Relay for Life. Those in attendance helped raise money for the American Cancer Society by walking laps.

Maplewood mosque vandalized in possible hate crime

Maplewood Police are working to identify two young men who were caught on security footage as they vandalized a Maplewood mosque around 1:30 a.m. on July 29.

Shooting leaves one dead near Harding High School

The St. Paul Police Department is investigating an Aug. 12 shooting that left one man dead near Harding High School.

The deceased man was identified as 21-year-old Devon L. Goode, of St. Paul, according to police

Artist tells Payne Avenue stories through portraits

His portraits and stories about the subjects will be on display at the East Side Arts Council office, 977 Payne Ave., starting in September.

During much of this last long and cold winter, St. Paul photographer Stephan Kistler spent time on Payne Avenue taking portraits of the people who live, work, and visit one of the East Side’s main streets.
